Fairly written for christians, and may feel like if you don't become a Christian, your life wouldn't pan out good or if you don't follow the doctrines of Christianity you won't have a loving and fulfilling life and or relationship.Would be nice to have a perspective for those who aren't Christians as some of the content may be unbearable if you don't fully understand the ins and outs of the religion, but I'm sure there are other books out there that cater to the less religious folk.With that aside, I give this read a solid 8, the only downfall as I said before was the in-comprehensiveness for those not deeply involved in the religion to practice and apply why is being expressed.-Regardless, the points engrained are phenomenal. Discussing the loneliness and temptation we all face, including the trend of having a significant other, this read has critical points for both guys and girls. We seem to always look for our worth in a significant other, and most times we settle. The authors battle the importance of not giving in, of fighting temptation because often when we take the reigns of our life for temporary fulfillment, we bring heartache. There are various testimonies within the pages to support this claim, which I'm sure many other individuals can vouch that choosing someone out of loneliness sometimes brings more harm than good.-The fundamental point is that if you chase God, find yourself within him rather than in others, and apply his core values for a relationship, than even though it may be difficult; (through the testimony of both authors), you would find the relationship you've always dreamed of. If we follow the creator rather than the creation, we find a life worth living.-Continue to chase God. He’ll show you the way.
I'm 21, single, in college and have briefly dated guys-- sometimes going farther than I'm proud of. This book has spoken so much to my heart and spirit. While reading this, I've felt encouraged by the different stories, scriptures and advice. Their story is genuinely written and their heart for everyone to have a God-written story is uplifting. This is a great read, I honestly kept wanting to read more and more. If there are more books along these lines, I would love to hear about them!
I absolutely loved, recommended, and honestly credit this book for helping me find my future husband. I'm 26, but though this book is geared toward a little younger it just spoke to me about trusting him and believing that I could stop running and chasing after guys. I read this book and 2 months later I realized I have my future husband in my life. One that straight up told me today that he's been praying for me. (We've been best friends for a year and just recently became official.) Even if you're unsure about your faith and what God has planned for you. Just read this book!!! I can't say it enough.
Good book, but Meant for younger girls. Middle to early high school. It was not really right for 23 year old. Description should reflect that.
I couldn't have asked for a better book for young ladies! Kyle and Kelsey Kupecky share real life (their lives) stories with readers to encourage them to CHASE after God first and not man. This book is truthfully and beautifully written in a way thats easy to understand and relate to. I am encouraged and motivated after reading this book to not be focused on my future spouse but instead on God. He already has a plan for my life and I (and all of us young ladies) need to trust him with whatever he has in store for us for our futures. I highly recommend this book to all young ladies out there. Single, dating, attached, married; I believe this book will touch you all in different ways. If I could give this book more than 5/5, I would but alas! :)
Highly recommended. Purchased for my 20 year old daughter upon recommendation from a friend. She was 5 days into a dating relationship with a guy who is a Christian but neither had carefully thought through best advice for dating and guidelines— letting him lead, pursuing God First, etc. She finished the book and immediately on her own discussed with her new boyfriend some healthy guidelines they wanted to establish to have a healthy Christ centered relationship. Grateful for the timely advice....so great to get helpful tips even for married couples.
I truly believe that this book can help young and old believers in Christ in having happy endings. This book is dedicated too young Christians was struggling with trying to find a mate. it is for all young and older children of God I was truly amazed by the dedication the love respect and honor Kyle and Kelsey show to each other. thank you for this amazing book I've learned so much. I do feel that this book can be a learning tool for any Ministry dealing with youth or women or men in the church. I'm definitely going to use it in the women Ministry in my church.
It might be better for girls who haven't read other books about dating. As a 23 year old, I knew most of this information from either experience or other books. The authors write in a back and forth method, which is kind of unique. It is nice to get a male perspective.
